I first started practicing yoga through a DVD that I was given at my baby shower in 2008. Honestly, when I first received the video I thought to myself “I’m never going to use this”. Whelp, I did. Turns out you do things you never thought you’d do when you're awake at 2 in the morning with a newborn. Long story short - it turns out I liked yoga after all. In fact, very quickly after my initial discovery of yoga, I found myself signing up to take my 200 hr teacher training through Om Ananda. I didn’t think I’d actually use the certificate to teach, mostly because I felt unworthy and teaching seemed out of reach - but oddly enough, before I completed my first training I was given an opportunity to start teaching in a gym where I’d been working in the daycare with my daughter. I taught at that gym for many years and then branched out to other places in the community. Over the course of many years, I completed my 500 Hr Yoga Certificate, all through Om Ananda.
My classes are more than just poses strung together, I like to think I offer an “experience." I arrive early to get the room vibing just right. I begin class with breath work, a short story or a mini-meditation. Writing is another hobby of mine, so when inspiration strikes I love to weave a theme throughout my classes. I also will occasionally use essential oils, incorporate sound healing instruments, and offer hands-on enhancements during class. I really truly love what I do.
I enjoy the creative freedom of teaching different styles, from gentle and relaxing stretching to heart-pumping, sweat dripping power flows. When I’m teaching an upbeat class, I have a goal that no one feels defeated when they walk out the door - while also aiming to challenge students who came to crush a work-out. In order to do this I will typically repeat a short sequence (5-10 poses) and with each repetition I’ll offer progressive cueing or increase the speed in which we flow. This way - newbies can get comfortable through repetition while long time students have the opportunity to further express the poses.

I am a Colorado native and received my associates degree from FRCC and bachelors degree from CSU in Fort Collins. I took my first yoga class in 2005 and have been practicing asana throughout the years. During a Mommy & Me class with my daughter I had an “aha moment” and decided it was now the time to pursue yoga teacher training! In fall of 2017, I received my 200 hour certification from Om Ananda Yoga. In pursuance of my new found passion to learn about the many aspects of yoga, I continued with the Upper Level Teacher Training program at Om Ananda Yoga and received my 300 hour certification in December 2018. I became a certified Children’s Yoga Teacher in the summer of 2019 because I truly believe all ages can benefit physically, mentally and spiritually from yoga. I am also now honored to be a part of leading the yoga teacher training at Om Ananda.
In my classes, I weave cueing in Sanskrit as well as basic anatomy terminology into class and offer hands-on adjustments/assists/enhancements. To set the tone, I like turning up the music, which is typically upbeat to help carry us through class.
Though yoga has a special place in my heart, I also love cycling around town and running. My goal is to race a 1/2 marathon every month in 2024! I am active with a local running community in Windsor and Fort Collins, and am a Certified Level 1 Road Running Coach. I am excited to practice yoga with the Windsor community and look forward to seeing you in class!!!

Erica Koehler 200 RYT
Instructor
Hi! I'm Erica and I have been teaching and practicing yoga off and on for over 25 years. I was first introduced to yoga during my undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Colorado where I earned a Bachelor in Performing Arts with an emphasis in Dance, Education and Spanish. Yoga quickly became highly integrated into my exercise and dance conditioning regimen. It has helped me maintain a strong, healthy body and also, aided in healing and repairing my body after many injuries. Further, practicing yoga has helped center me after hard days, brought calm to my busy mind and created a community where I feel safe being myself, but also taking on challenges and seeking growth - both physically and emotionally. After several years of teaching dance, yoga and group fitness classes, I pursued my formal 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Nexus Institute in Nosara, Costa Rica in 2022. My approach focuses primarily on safety, alignment, challenge and spirituality. I have also earned a Master of Education in Counseling & Career Development which I believe shows up in my teaching style as well. I like to pay close attention to students "meeting their bodies where they are" on any given day and this highly informs my approach as an instructor. I was a single mom for 20+ year and am newly enjoying the empty-nest phase of life. I'm super excited to be on staff at Happi Yogi and I can't wait to see you in class! Namaste!

Hi, everyone! Let’s flow! I graduated from Colorado State University in 2023 with a BA in Dance, and a BS in Nutrition & Fitness. Through my personal interest and studies surrounding holistic health, yoga was always a big piece to that puzzle. Throughout college, yoga became more and more a part of who I was. I began connecting the dots of the positive impact yoga was having on my life, and decided to pursue teacher training post-graduation.
I received my 200 hour certification from Om Ananda Yoga in December 2023 with the intention of integrating the mind, body, and spirit connection in the yoga classes I teach. I love that yoga is always able to meet you where you’re at, and that you have autonomy in your practice. I gravitate towards teaching vinyasa flows that focus on building strength, mobility and some heat while turning the focus inward. I aim to bring creativity and strength to my classes while fostering a space that is open for everyone to explore their practice.

Wes Gunter, 200 RYT
Instructor
Hi everyone, my name is Wes. I’ve been doing yoga for about seven years. I am a builder and have been in the contracting world for 37 years. During that time I’ve definitely abused my body, and in doing so made me look for something to help me just feel better so I started doing yoga from YouTube which is great, but I just wanted more. My kids knew that I wanted more out of my yoga practice so they got me a membership to a yoga studio for Christmas one year and that’s how my journey began. I fell in love with going to the studio, just the atmosphere of like-minded people was nervous at first, but then realized that the yoga community can be very inclusive, even me.
Several years later, I got the opportunity to start building a new yoga studio for Windsor and had the pleasure of meeting Kelly, Carole and Melinda. Not too long into the project. Kelly approached and said, maybe you’d be a good teacher, I didn’t think much of it, she just planted the seed. I looked into getting my 200 hour certificate at Om Ananda.
In my classes, we are going to explore restorative yoga and the benefits of longer holds, and a way of slowing down the chaotic world. Come to the mat and experience the true presence of now with the help of breath work and some easy meditation.
I am forever learning, and would love to share my experiences of yoga, and the power that it has to truly change your life as it has done for me. Come join me on the mat.

“Yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” I work to bridge the gap between ancient Indian Yogic wisdom and the needs of modern life here in Colorado. I’ve lived a diverse life: on the one hand, I am passionate about holistic health and living a life of Yoga. I’m a certified Reiki healer and sound healer, using Tibetan singing bowls.

I am originally from South Africa, and my family still resides there, but I have been in the United States since 2012. I have a history of competitive sports, having been a D1 tennis player in college and an avid runner and Crossfitter. I have practiced yoga on and off since childhood, but my journey deepened in 2022 when a hostel I was staying at in Bali offered daily classes. This experience led me to a silent meditation retreat in Thailand, where I met my mentor or Guru – a modern-day Yogi from the Netherlands, rich in Vedic knowledge. I completed my 200hr Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India, in the Himalayas, focusing on Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, pranayama, meditation, and Ayurveda. It wouldn’t be accurate to say that Yoga changed me, but rather that it brought me to myself. It changed my life and has now largely become my life.
On the other hand, I’m a part-time instructor at CSU, teaching video production and visual communication, and am an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker. I have a master’s degree in public communication and technology and studied journalism and nutrition in undergrad.
My entire background greatly informs my yoga practice and teachings. I’m forever a student, so let’s learn together and enjoy the process of uniting with our highest selves.

I developed a love of movement early on. I grew up dancing, practicing gymnastics and playing soccer. Then dove into practicing yoga regularly after college looking for a fun way to stay active. I quickly realized that the benefits of yoga go beyond the physical and developed a deep appreciation for the emotional healing, mental clarity and spiritual connection that come with a regular practice. I earned my 200 RYT as well as certifications as a Meditation Teacher and Postnatal Yoga Teacher. My classes encourage playfulness and curiosity while offering a safe/inclusive space for participants to listen to their bodies and honor their unique path.
When not practicing yoga, I enjoy working with children as a nanny and I'm training to become a birth doula. I also love to spend time paddle boarding, camping, crocheting, and reading. I am excited to connect with those in the Happi Yogi community!”

Brooke Croteau
Instructor
My classes usually begin with pranayama, setting an intention, and some gentle movements to warm up the body. Then, we really begin to really move. I blend tradition vinyasa (breath to movement) with mobility exercises I've learned through my personal training career. I use upbeat music to fuel the energy of the room, love creative transitions, keeping a steady pace, and will offer modifications and hands on adjustments throughout class. In my opinion honoring yourself, your body, where you are at in this moment on your mat will ALWAYS be the most important part of the practice. So, I aim to hold that space for each member of the community in every class.

Molly Dowell
Instructor
Hello everyone! I’m Molly, a yoga and dance instructor based in Northern Colorado! I am originally from Massachusetts but have been living in Colorado for the past 10 years and it has become home. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Colorado State University in 2020, and am currently pursuing a Masters of Art in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University. I received my 200-Hr Yoga certification from Om Ananda in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2020.
(I guess 2020 was a busy year for me!)
I was first introduced to yoga at age 12 as a form of “cross-training” for dance. For a long time my practice revolved strictly around the physical (Asana), and focused on poses and athleticism. After completing yoga teacher training, my spiritual and meditative practice grew stronger and my yoga practice evolved again. The most drastic change occurred after having my two children; when my yoga practice then became integral in re-finding my mind/body connection. Isn’t it amazing how our yoga practices can continue to expand and change as we do?
In my classes I strive to create a space for yogis of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels to come to their mat, find a moment of mindfulness, and feel free to try something new. My slow flow classes will include: music, some held poses/stretches, breath work and space to explore on your mat. I am so excited to be a part of the Happy Yogi community and cannot wait for the chance to practice alongside each other!

Salutations friends, my name is Taylor and I am a passionate and energetic student, practitioner, and teacher of Yoga. Implementing the principles of Yoga as the blue print of my life has opened so many doors and opportunities for growth in every aspect of my life and its is my goal to show my students how the work we do on the mat informs the work that we are doing off our mats every single day.
Coming from a strong background of playing sports and being athletic all of my life, I began practicing Yoga with Kelly in 2013 and with her encouragement completed my 200hr YTT through Om Ananda Yoga in 2014. Shambhavananda Yoga provided the stability and roots to contain my energy and the knowledge to channel it. With the tools I desperately needed to calm my tempestuous energy and funnel it into something manageable and useful I have never looked back. I continued to invest in myself through more training with Om Ananda Yoga until I completed my 500 hours in 2020 with specializations in partner yoga, adjustments, Vinyasa, Yoga for well-being, deep roots(lower body), and rise true(upper body). I flourished in adjustments. This became a gateway as I continued to explore all the way to Thai Yoga Massage training in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2018 where I completed a 90hr certified training.
As I approach my 10th year of teaching I am so grateful to continue to be inspired daily by this practice and incredibly blessed to share with the community how it has and continues to shape and re-structure my life. Yoga is a deep well, a vast ocean, an infinite source that is available to everyone and anyone that is really and willing to work. I can’t wait to share space and magic with you all.

Hi, I’m Brandi. The first time I ever remember doing yoga was as a kid in a group class at a local gym with my mom and her cousin. I remember really liking the smell and weight of the lavender-scented eye pillows. That’s about all I remember from that class, so I guess I should've known when I did my teacher training that I’d end up having a deep connection to the slower, gentler sides of yoga. However, by the time I did my teacher training at 19 as a freshman in college, I was drawn in by wanting to do all the fun arm balances and crazy bends. My journey into yoga really started there, with a Vinyasa-based training. The first classes I taught were hot Vinyasa yoga. At the time I loved it and I felt like I was right where I was supposed to be. Then, about a year into teaching I developed chronic migraines and everything came to an abrupt halt. It took 8 months before I was able to start getting my life back on track. I began teaching again and eventually returned to school. I learned SO much about myself during those 8 months and I came out on the other side more in tune and connected to my body and my needs. My migraines led me back to those little silk-covered, lavender eye pillows. Now it’s my goal to share the restorative, introspective side of yoga and help people find harmony with themselves. I’m excited to meet you on your mat :)

Yoga is a way of life on and off the mat and I am so grateful to be able to share this ancient tradition here at Happi Yogi! My yoga path began in 2003 back in my home state of Michigan.
I started practicing because I was a school teacher at the time and had my summers off, so I thought hot yoga was a good physical workout for me. Little did I know that 5 years, 2 kids and a career change later, I would be the one teaching this incredible practice!
I received my RYT 200 hr certification from Red Lotus School of Yoga in Rochester, MI in January 2008. From there I taught Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Gentle, Yin, Kid’s yoga, Yoga for Seniors and the list goes on! I found that teaching yoga was what I was meant to do and my Dharma of Service aligned perfectly. I also received my 500 hr certification from Yoga Impact in Hathaway, NJ in August 2019.
When I am not teaching yoga, I love to hike, bike, travel, read and spend as much time with my family and friends as I can. In addition to teaching yoga, I am also a Youth Services Assistant at the Windsor and Severance libraries. I am very lucky to love both my jobs and my personal yoga practice keeps me grounded and grateful as I flow through this thing we call life.
I can't wait to see you on your mat soon!

Ash Wagner
Instructor
Hi all, my name is Ash! I have always found myself intrigued by all things natural health & overall wellbeing. I am currently a student studying holistic health, and feel deeply grateful for the journey it has taken me on. Even before I could grasp this world of wellness, I was always drawn to the healing arts. I was introduced to yoga in 2017 in high school, and always felt called to the practice since then - which led me to getting my 200 hour yoga teacher training certification in July of 2022. Earlier in 2024, I did an extra YTT in Yin and Somatics - so as of now, that is my area of focus. I quickly began to realize yoga was so much more than movement, and felt that it was more of an alignment of the mind, body, and spirit. Afterall, the word "yoga" translates to "unity"!
My approach to teaching is rooted in embodiment - aiming to create a space where students can listen to their body's wisdom & honor it. Allowing ourselves space to slow down, get into our bodies & sit (or move) with it! The world can be fast paced and stressful at times - I hope to create a space where we can let it go and take a moment for ourselves. I aim to always be a student of life & remain open to the continuous wisdom this practice has to offer. Yoga has been a place of deep healing for me & my intention is to share this beautiful practice with others. So grateful to be a part of this community!

In my classes, I incorporate breath work and mindfulness with yoga postures. I offer variations for all levels, hands on adjustments, and encourage deep inner awareness for body, mind and spirit. I utilize sound and smell during classes, such as essential oils, healing instruments and singing. I cue in a way that helps you grow deeper anatomical awareness, so that you can experience building a practice that honors your unique body and builds both strength and flexibility.

Melissa Martin

Hi friends! So excited and humbled to be a part of the Happi Yogi family.
I started my journey as a yogi in 2014, where I received my 200-Hour certification through Corepower Yoga in Santa Barbara, CA. From there, I took weekend intensives to get certified in Yoga Sculpt and Fusion. My passion for the yoga community only deepened as I broadened my involvement through teacher trainings, and management and retail roles. I have taught in various studios in CA, Dallas and right here in CO, which is where I have built and grown my little family.
I guide dynamic classes that harmonize breath with movement set to uplifting, intentional music. Each class delves into a theme, inviting students to deepen their practice and self-awareness. I encourage personal modifications, empowering each student to honor their bodies' unique needs throughout their practice. Passionate about creating a sanctuary for mind, body and heart, I enhance the experience with essential oils and hands on assists, fostering a nurturing environment where students can flourish.
I have a passion for holding space in class, because of how impactful and transformative my first interaction with yoga was. If I can do that for just one person, then I feel my calling as a teacher has been met.
Let's have some fun, and flow together, embracing each moment on the mat!
